Golden Now Connects to Azure SQL Database and Microsoft Fabric
Your data lives in a lot of places. Golden works where it lives, now including Azure SQL Database and Microsoft Fabric.

Customers have data everywhere. Some of it's in Snowflake. Some in Databricks or BigQuery. And for a lot of teams, a big chunk of it lives in Microsoft Azure.
So today we're adding 2 connectors: Azure SQL Database and Microsoft Fabric, covering both the Lakehouse SQL analytics endpoint and Fabric Warehouse.

Golden works where the data is
Golden queries Azure SQL and Fabric directly. Each chart, KPI and filter runs as a query against your database, and the results come back to Golden.
That keeps things simple:
- The numbers come from the same source your other tools use.
- The permissions you've set in Azure apply to what Golden can read.
- The work runs in the engine you already have.
Golden writes the T-SQL for you and pushes the aggregation into Azure, so it returns the summarized result rather than raw rows.
We support your authentication
Azure teams sign in a few different ways. Golden supports all 3:
- Sign in with Microsoft (Entra ID)
- Entra service principal, for a dedicated app identity
- SQL login, for Azure SQL databases that use one
For Fabric, Golden lists your workspaces and finds the SQL endpoint for each lakehouse or warehouse. You pick the table.
Connections use TLS with certificate verification, and stored credentials are encrypted.
A few details
- Exact decimals. High-precision decimal and money columns keep every digit.
- Serverless databases. If an Azure SQL serverless database is paused, Golden retries while it resumes.
- Unicode text. Filters on non-Latin values match correctly.
- Medians. Azure SQL computes percentiles approximately in aggregate queries, and Golden labels those medians as approximate.
