Totals and Subtotals on Tables

Tables can now show column totals, group subtotals, and row totals, computed in SQL so they cover the whole result rather than the rows currently on screen. A Totals section in the format pane picks the aggregation per measure, and a row total is held back when the columns it would span carry different units.

Funnel Charts Rebuilt

One Funnel entry in the chart picker now covers every look the funnel family had. Shape, orientation, label position, and taper are independent controls, so you can build a classic funnel, a pyramid, step bars, or a conversion view, and combine them freely rather than picking a preset and living with what it decided.

Outcome Stages and a Chosen Conversion Stage

Mark a stage as an outcome and a loss bucket sits apart from the chain, keeping its real share of the entry stage without pretending deals converted into it. The headline conversion % measures to whichever stage you name as the finish line, detected by default as the latest stage that reads as a win, so a pipeline ending in Closed Won then Closed Lost reports the win rate.

Funnel Target Shelf and Label Templates

A new Target shelf holds the number each stage was aiming for, so a funnel can show 90 people bought against a goal of 100, with the stage labeled and colored against the goal rather than gaining a second bar. Stage labels can carry the value, the % of the first stage, and the % of the previous stage together, so the whole picture reads without a hover.

Amazon Redshift Enabled by Default

Connect to Amazon Redshift from the connector picker, no flag required, with the same depth as Snowflake and Databricks: browse every schema and table in a large cluster, cancel a long query, and authenticate with AWS Secrets Manager credentials.

Smart Split Runs on Live Connections

Split a messy column into clean ones on any dataset, imported or live warehouse. Describe the split and AI works out the rule; each output becomes a calculated field, so it runs at query time, survives a reload, and can be opened later to edit its formula or reference from another calculation.

Salesforce Reports in the Connector Picker

Build an analysis on a Salesforce report by picking Salesforce straight from the connector picker. Connections keep themselves signed in, refreshing on their own and again when opened, so a report stays available instead of asking for a reconnect a couple of hours later.

Fact and Dimension Tables Detected Automatically

Connect a Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift warehouse and Golden tells you which tables hold your facts and which hold your dimensions, then lays them out as a star model. The read comes from join cardinality, row counts, column shape, and naming together, and says unknown when the evidence is thin rather than guessing.

Aggregate a Date Pill as Earliest or Latest

Put a date on rows or columns and aggregate it the way you would a measure: Earliest, Latest, Count, or Count Distinct, from the pill dropdown or the shelf popover. First order date per customer, or last login per account, is now a pill choice rather than a calculated field.

Calculated Fields Type-Checked at Authoring

Calculated fields tell you about a wrong-type formula while you are writing it, and offer the fix in one click: DATEDIFF for a date minus a date, COUNTD for a sum over text. You find out at the point you can act on it, instead of on a chart that comes back empty.

Reuse an Existing Connection

Creating a connection to a warehouse someone on your team already reached now starts from theirs. A Reuse an existing connection section lists the connections you can see, and one click fills in the host, account, and other non-secret settings, leaving only credentials to enter.

Redesigned Toasts and Report a Bug

Hit an error and you can file it from the toast itself. Report this bug opens a report already carrying a screenshot and steps drafted from what you were just doing, so a bug takes a sentence to send. Toasts are also restyled and centered, and a burst of them stays readable rather than collapsing.

Trial Status Card

A card in the Home sidebar shows how many days are left in a trial, so the end date is visible from anywhere in the product. Account admins can buy from it directly or open a Contact sales form that arrives prefilled.

Drop a Dimension on a Measure Shelf as Count Distinct

Drag a category onto a measure shelf and it lands as Count Distinct, so counting distinct customers or orders takes a drag rather than a calculated field. The pill menu switches between Count and Count Distinct, and the choice is kept on reload.

Help Docs Refresh Themselves Nightly

The in-app help center now rewrites itself every night against what actually shipped, so the steps an article gives match the controls in front of you. Three months of drift was caught up along the way.

Scatter Plot Legibility and Format Pane

Scatter marks now carry a border by default and ease their size and opacity down as the plot fills, so touching points keep a definite edge instead of merging into a blob. Points no longer overhang the axes, dates on Color render as formatted labels, the size slider and log-scale bounds work, and the sticky tooltip carries filter and exclude actions.

Multi-Series Dashboard Tiles Match Analyze

A dashboard tile's legend, axes, and grid now respond to the tile's measured height, so a short tile hides what it has no room for instead of drawing everything. Hovering a row in an expanded chart's data table also dims the other marks, the way Analyze already did.

Taller Suggested Visualization Tiles

Dashboards generated from Suggested Visualizations now lay out at 560, 520, and 480 pixels rather than 450, 400, and 350, so charts start readable instead of needing a zoom. The artboard grows to fit, so nothing is clipped in presentation mode.

Numeric Dimensions Sort Numerically

A number field used as a dimension now shows the # icon rather than the text T, across the field list, the shelf pills, and the dashboard data pane, and sorts 2 before 10 instead of lexicographically.

A Date Added Second Nests Under the Existing Sort

Adding a date as the second x-axis field on an already-ranked bar chart now keeps the existing sort as the primary key and nests the date under it as an ascending tiebreaker, preserving the rank you chose. Sort keys pointing at fields no longer on a shelf are dropped rather than left as an unnumbered level.

Find and Replace Matches Case-Insensitively

Prepare's find and replace ran case-sensitively while the preview and dialog defaulted to case-insensitive, so lowercase find text could change zero rows without saying so. Matching now agrees across both, and a zero-match run reports it.

Enrich Dialog Retargets Its Source Column

The Enrich dialog gains a "Column to enrich" picker, so editing the prompt to aim at another column now actually enriches that column. Changing the column returns to the input phase rather than leaving a preview whose header names one column over another column's values.

Add a Person by Clicking Their Name

In the space members drawer and the other people pickers, clicking a person's name or avatar now adds them at the default role. Previously only the small Add button on the right was live, and the name read as inert.

Google Sign-Up Fills In Your Profile

Signing up with Google now seeds your display name and avatar from the Google account instead of leaving the profile blank until you visit Settings. Only empty fields are filled.

Snowflake Network Policy Errors Say What to Do

An account network policy that refuses Golden's egress IP read as "Snowflake authentication failed", so people cycled through password, token, and key pair with every attempt failing the same way. The message now names the cause, points at the network policy allowlist and Private Link, and says changing authentication method will not help.

Prepare Chat Opens at the Latest Message

Returning to the Prepare chat left it scrolled to the top and it never followed new replies. Both the editable and read-only transcripts, the latter forced on for every live warehouse connection, now open at the newest message and follow the conversation.

Salesforce Datasets Refresh When Opened

A dataset built from a Salesforce report used to be a permanent snapshot that aged quietly after import. Opening one now re-fetches the report the same way Google Sheets sources do, including the retry cooldown and in-flight deduplication.

Salesforce Reports Say When They Are Truncated

A Salesforce report longer than the API's per-run detail-row cap imported partially while the wizard reported the partial count as the full total. The import now flags the report as truncated, and preview stops labeling its 100-row sample as the whole thing.

Funnels on Live Warehouse Connections

A funnel drew a plausible but wrong chart on a warehouse connection: segments collapsed into a single "Unknown", and some configurations returned one grand-total row. The query, Analyze, and the dashboard now resolve the funnel's stage, measure, and segment the same way, so all three agree on what the chart is bound to.

Dates Without a Timezone Read as the Date They Name

A warehouse value like "2023-02-25" was read into local midnight while every formatter printed UTC, so the same value showed as Feb 25 in Los Angeles and Feb 24 in Berlin, naming a day the warehouse does not hold. Zone-less strings are now read as a UTC wall clock; a string carrying a real offset keeps it. Period overlays, forecast data edges, and view-data date filters are corrected with it.

Date Values Print in Their Configured Format

The Data Dictionary's date ranges and sample chips, Discover's data profile, the Prepare hover tooltip, and explain-this-chart narratives showed raw values like "2022-01-03T00:00:00.000Z". All of them now use the field's configured Date Format.

Calculated Fields Work on Every Query

A calculated field referenced through most query paths reached the warehouse as a column nothing defined, failing with a binder error naming the field. The definition now travels with the query on all of them, rather than the three that carried it.

AI Generation Stops Mixing Measures Across Fact Tables

On a dataset with two independent fact tables, AI generation freely built charts combining both facts' measures grouped by a dimension local to one of them, which the query engine refuses and which rendered as a broken tile. Generated charts now take their measures from one fact table and compare across facts with separate charts sharing a common dimension.

Distance Questions That Claimed Success

Asking chat for a distance calculation could report a chart as built while leaving the shelf empty, because a calculated field created earlier in the same turn was resolved against a stale dataset. Seven related defects are fixed, including distance to a per-row or related-row target, a filter outliving the field it names, and a cross-table formula previewing blank instead of zero.

A Sparkline No Longer Rewrites the KPI Number

Adding a trend line to a KPI card quietly changed what the headline meant, from the measure across all rows to the newest period, with no label change and a "vs previous period" comparison appearing alongside. "Value Shows" now has All Records as its named default, and the period comparison appears only in the series modes.

The Measure Axis Stays On Screen for Dashboard Bars

A horizontal bar chart on a dashboard drew no measure axis at any tile size anyone actually uses, showing only the measure name the tile renders itself. The dashboard now uses the same pinned-axis path Analyze does, and axis ticks stay fixed between scroll pages.

Dashboard Scatter Colored by a Measure

Coloring a dashboard scatter by a measure left every point on the first palette color with no gradient legend, and the tile fetched an uncapped point set, so the same chart drew smaller, fainter points than in Analyze and the format pane's max points control did nothing. Both now match Analyze, and the point cap is disclosed with a limit badge.

Synced Trellis Axes Round and Panels Clip

Trellis panels with Sync Axes pinned the axis to the raw data extremes, so gridlines landed on values like 6.47M with none on zero and the axis looked like it started well above it. The shared extent is now nice-rounded, panels are sized to the chart's real minimum height so the x-axis and zero tick are not cut off, and marks near the ceiling no longer paint over the neighboring panel.

Outer Group Labels Rotate When Crowded

On a nested horizontal bar chart, the outer group labels collided with the inner tick labels whenever the left column could not get the width its text needed. They now rotate to vertical and narrow to one line height exactly when horizontal labels cannot fit, and stay horizontal when there is room.

Prepare Table View Scrolls Again

The Prepare grid stopped scrolling, vertically on tall datasets and horizontally on wide ones, and pushed its pagination footer off screen. The grid wrapper is bounded again, so the scroll viewport and pager are back.

TSV Uploads Get Their Column Names

A .tsv upload imported with one named column and the rest padded as column01, column02, because the ingest sniffer picked a comma for a tab-separated file. The delimiter is now forced from the file extension on both ingest paths, and threaded through every read in the ingest rather than the initial one.

Multi-Table Dataset Shape Survives a Failed Join

A multi-table dataset whose manifest did not persist reopened with eleven tables missing, because recipe steps recorded against one table replayed against another. A step naming a table the load does not have is now refused and reported instead of silently binding to the wrong columns.

Relationship Lines Stay Drawn While Detecting

Adding a table blanked every line on the entity-relationship diagram for the duration of detection, which is indistinguishable from the model being wiped. Existing lines now stay drawn throughout, and the new table's line appears when detection finishes.

BigQuery Table Previews on User-Owned Datasets

Previewing a table in a BigQuery dataset with no schema tier was rejected with "connectionId, database, schema, and table are required" before any query ran, because an empty schema name read as missing. Every other layer already models it as an empty string, and the preview now does too.

Orphaned Relationships Cleared on Load

Relationship rows pointing at tables a dataset no longer holds inflated the data model's relationship count and joined nothing. They are now separated from the usable edges when the dataset loads.

Each Enrichment Gets Its Own Cached Result

The enrichment cache key was truncated inside the account id, so the value, query, columns, and precision never reached it and an account had a single cache slot serving every enrichment. Each enrichment is now keyed on what it actually asks.

Chart Previews Stay In Sync After an Edit

Recoloring a chart and navigating away quickly serialized the pre-edit image onto the Space and Home cards. The card preview is now re-derived from the freshest capture on every save path.

Share Invites That Would Land on a No-Access Wall

Sharing an analysis into a space you only edit sent the invitee a notification without adding them to the space, so the link opened on "you don't have access" while the dialog reported success. Invites now go only to people who have access or were just granted it, and the dialog warns up front when the destination is a space you cannot add people to.

A Failed Duplicate Says So

Duplicating an analysis from the menu had no error handling, so any failure closed the menu and did nothing. A failure is now reported, matching what Rename already did.
