Narrative Cards with AI Copy
Callout, hero, and annotation cards can now be added to a dashboard by hand from the toolbar and canvas right-click menu, not only through the AI generator. Callout and hero cards auto-write their own copy on insert from a summary of the data, a per-field Generate button covers the rest, and picking a Source chart regenerates the card's text from that chart. Callouts auto-fit so long text isn't clipped.
Pattern Fill for Chart Marks
Bars, pie and donut slices, and range bars can now be filled with a texture instead of a solid color: pinstripe, diagonal, crosshatch, or waves. A 'one per series' mode pairs a distinct texture with each series so charts stay readable in greyscale or for color-blind viewers. Controls live under a Pattern Fill group in the Color pane with a texture-color picker, scale, and opacity.
Component Background Color and Transparent Mode
A Background swatch in the Position & Size section of the properties panel now sets a background color on every dashboard component type, not just metric cards. Choosing None makes the component transparent, stripping its card background, border, and shadow so the content renders bare. Backgrounds now match between the live canvas and the shared or published dashboard.
Databricks Per-User OAuth
Databricks connections can now authenticate individual users with OAuth instead of sharing a single service credential. Each user connects through a PKCE authorization flow, and queries run under their own identity so Databricks row-level security and audit logs apply per user. The connection setup card walks through the required Databricks app registration steps.
Funnel Color Ramp, Drop-off Breakdown, and Per-Stage Colors
Funnel charts gain a gradient color mode that renders a true light-to-dark ramp across stages with contrast-aware label text, a Drop-off breakdown section beneath the funnel, and per-stage color overrides. The funnel Color mode and Stage Colors now live in the Color section of the format pane, and mark drop shadows apply to every funnel variant.
Improvements8
Cleaner Dashboard Open Defaults
Dashboards now open with cross-filtering on, so clicking a mark in one chart filters the rest out of the box, and with the filter bar collapsed behind a 'Show filter bar' pill for a tidier first view. A value you set explicitly is still preserved, only the never-set default changed.
KPI Measure Label Toggle and Auto-Fit
KPI cards get a Show Label toggle so a card whose title already names the measure isn't redundant, and the big number now scales to fit the card instead of clipping when a subtitle, comparison, or sparkline takes space. Resizing a KPI is smoother and its sparkline stays visible instead of blanking mid-drag.
Rows and Columns Swap on Dashboards
The Dashboard Fields configure panel now has the same Rows/Columns swap button that Analyze has, beside the Options row, with identical chart-type-aware behavior. Swapping flips a chart between horizontal and vertical for every chart type that supports it.
Focused Highlight Across Trellis Panels
Selecting a mark in a trellis (small-multiples) chart now keeps that one mark bright and dims every other mark in every panel, so the selection reads as a single focus point across the whole grid. Multi-point View Data selections that span trellis panels now return exactly the rows you clicked instead of the cross-product of your picks.
Design Elements Locked in Present Mode
In Present mode, free-form text, shapes, and images no longer show drag handles, resize cues, or a move cursor, matching the non-interactive nature of a presented dashboard. Previously these elements stayed draggable and showed hover rings even while presenting.
Searchable Relationship Dropdowns
The table and column pickers in the Add/Edit Relationship dialog and the multi-table import editor now filter by substring as you type, so a column like EXTERNAL_ANALYSIS_COMPANIES is findable by typing 'company'. Previously the dropdowns matched only the first letter.
Fields Preserved Across Chart Type Changes
Switching a chart's type now carries fields over to the closest matching shelves on the new chart instead of starting empty. A bar chart's rows and columns follow to a scatter plot's X and Y, a color field stays on the Color shelf, and any fields the new type can't use are parked in the unused-fields area instead of being dropped.
AI Builds Driver Tree Charts
Asking the AI Analyst for a driver or decomposition chart now produces a Driver Tree chart. Natural-language queries like 'what drives revenue' or 'show a KPI breakdown' route to the Driver Tree chart type automatically.
Fixes12
Calculated Fields Referencing Other Calculated Fields
A calculated field whose formula referenced another calculated field could crash a chart with a raw column-not-found error, because the reference was renamed but its definition was never inlined. Referenced calc fields, including aggregates like an average of an average, now resolve correctly.
One Bad Formula No Longer Blanks the Rest
In the Data pane, a single invalid calculated-field formula used to fail the whole batch query, so every calculated field rendered as a dash. Each field is now evaluated on its own when the batch fails, so only the broken formula shows a dash while its valid siblings populate. A multi-table dataset with duplicate column names across joined tables also no longer errors on calc-field preview.
AI-Built Sankey Charts
Asking the AI to build a Sankey chart produced a blank chart because the prompt mapped the shelves backwards, silently dropping the second dimension. The prompts now emit two dimensions to Nodes and a measure to Link, and a Sankey built with no measure falls back to the real record count per node pair instead of a uniform link width.
Excel Import for ERP and Multi-Sheet Files
Importing ERP-style Excel files now auto-removes trailing total, subtotal, and grand-total rows so aggregations aren't inflated, and normalizes '- None -' placeholders to null so mixed columns type as numeric. Editing a cell in a multi-sheet Excel dataset no longer blanks every row, and single-source queries in a multi-table dataset no longer return nulls.
Snowflake System Databases Now Visible
A per-user Snowflake OAuth connection with full table grants showed system-classified databases (such as SNOWFLAKE_SAMPLE_DATA) as empty and non-expandable when browsing. These databases now list their schemas and tables like any other.
Snowflake Accounts with Underscore Identifiers
Connecting a Snowflake data source whose account identifier contains an underscore failed with a 'Host is not a valid hostname' error before reaching Snowflake. The identifier is now normalized everywhere it's used, so password and key-pair sign-in succeed, and a blank username returns a clear 'username is required' message instead of a server error.
Scrollable Bar Chart After a Filter Change
A horizontally-scrolled bar chart no longer jumps back to its first bars when the data changes underneath it. Filtering, cross-filtering, or refreshing while scrolled keeps your position, so the bars on screen match the 'N-M of total' indicator instead of showing the top of the list.
KPI and Table Data Preserved on Format Edits
The first format edit of a KPI or table component with no saved chart config could silently switch the displayed data, turning a metric-backed KPI into a record count or dropping a table's aggregated view. Format-only edits no longer flip what the component shows.
Dashboard Toolbar After Present Mode
Exiting Present mode could leave the dashboard toolbar stuck folded into its overflow menu, hiding most of its buttons. The toolbar now re-measures on exit and shows its full set of buttons again.
Lollipop Chart Labels When Flipped Vertical
Swapping Rows and Columns to flip a lollipop chart vertical left its shelf labels reading X-Axis and Y-Axis and its measure-axis title stranded under the category labels. Shelf labels now read Values and Category in both orientations, and the axis title follows the measure. A related combo-chart swap that broke the chart was also fixed.
Missing Thumbnails on Explore and Home Cards
Freshly-created dashboard cards sometimes showed the browser's broken-image icon instead of a thumbnail, and the miss was effectively permanent. Card thumbnails now render reliably, and a card that hits a dead image URL retries instead of showing the broken icon.
Sort Badges and Dropdowns in Analyze
Hovering a sort badge or sort button in Analyze while switching visualizations could trigger a crash that blanked the canvas. The overlapping tooltip and dropdown triggers are now isolated so changing a visualization with a sort control hovered no longer causes an error.
