Dashboard templates
Switch a dashboard to one of the Golden Templates or your own saved templates from the Storyteller pane, save a layout as a template, or apply a simple starter layout from the dashboard toolbar.
Templates change how a dashboard is laid out and styled. There are two kinds: full templates in the Storyteller pane, which rearrange an existing dashboard's content, and simple starter layouts in the dashboard toolbar, which place empty slots on the canvas.
Switch to a template
- Open a dashboard that already has content. If it is empty, generate or build one first.
- In the Storyteller pane on the right, open the AI tab and expand Templates.
- Click a template. Golden moves your dashboard's content into that template's layout and style.
Golden Templates are the curated set that comes with every workspace. There are 12: Editorial Brief, Editorial Atlas, Editorial Contrast, Operational Overview, Executive Overview, Spatial Flow, Nature Data, Warm Editorial, Mondrian, Typographic, Magazine Story, Dusk Gradient. Templates you saved yourself appear above them under Personal Templates.
Save your own as a template
- Build the dashboard you want to reuse.
- In the Storyteller pane, expand Templates and click Save as Template.
- Enter a Name and an optional Description, then click Save Template.
Saving keeps the layout and strips the field bindings, so the template works on other datasets. Your template then appears under Personal Templates. To remove one, click its delete button and confirm. Deleting cannot be undone.
Starter layouts
For a quick grid of empty slots, click Choose a layout template in the dashboard toolbar (or Layout Templates… in the toolbar's ··· menu on a narrow window). Pick a layout and click Apply Layout.
