Troubleshooting
Fixes for common account problems (avatar uploads, passwords, Slack and Google connections, the theme, and your email address), plus how to report a bug straight from an error message.
If something is not working as expected, the fixes below cover the most common issues. Most of them happen in Settings: click your avatar to open your user menu, then click Settings.
Avatar upload is rejected
Profile pictures must be an image file (JPG, PNG, or GIF) under 2MB. If you see "Image must be less than 2MB" or "Please select an image file", pick a smaller or different file and try again from Settings > Profile.
"Current password is incorrect" when changing password
Settings > Password re-verifies your current password before updating it. Make sure caps lock is off and you are entering the password you currently use to sign in. The Show password button in each field reveals what you typed.
I do not see a Current password field
If you only sign in with Google, there is no existing password to verify. Settings > Password explains that you signed in with Google and only asks for a new password and confirmation, so you can also log in with email and password.
Slack or Google will not connect
Connections to Slack and Google are in Settings > Integrations, and each teammate connects their own. If the Slack sign-in fails, a Connection failed message shows the reason. Click Connect to try again. If a row shows Connected to the wrong account, click Disconnect, confirm, then Connect again.
Theme flickers on load
While the app loads your saved theme, the theme choices show placeholders for a moment, then your selection is applied. If your choice does not stick, open Settings > Preferences and pick Light, Dark, or System under Appearance again.
I cannot change my email
The Email field in Settings > Profile is read-only by design. Contact your account admin if you need it updated.
Report a bug from an error
When an error message pops up, it carries a Report this bug link. Clicking it opens the "Something broke?" dialog with the error's text already filled into the What went wrong field. Add anything else — Steps to reproduce, and file attachments if they help — then click Submit. A screenshot of the screen is captured for you when the dialog opens, so the report arrives with context.
