Present a dashboard full screen

Enter present mode to show a dashboard without the editor around it - filters and slicers stay live, everything else is locked, and you can copy the board as an image.

A dashboard you built is surrounded by toolbars, rails, and handles that only matter to you. Present mode strips all of that away and shows the board itself, which is what you want on a shared screen or in a meeting.

Enter and leave present mode

  1. Open the dashboard you want to show.
  2. Click Present in the top bar - its tooltip reads "Present full screen".
  3. Press Escape to come back, or use the close control in the corner. The hint "Press ESC to exit" stays on screen.
Note: The Present button hides itself on narrow windows, where there is not enough room in the top bar. Widen the window if you cannot find it.

What still works

Present mode is not a static screenshot. The board is still driven by its filters, which is the whole point - you can answer a question from the room instead of leaving the presentation to go and change a chart.

  • On-canvas slicer cards stay fully interactive.
  • The filter bar can be shown with the filters control and hidden again, and still offers "Clear all filters" and the field search.
  • Charts still respond to clicks, so selection and cross-filtering behave as they do in the editor.
  • A Link element performs its action rather than selecting itself.

What is locked

Design elements and components cannot be dragged, resized, or edited while presenting, and "Add filter" is suppressed - you can use the filters that exist, not add new ones. That is deliberate: it makes present mode safe to hand to someone else without them rearranging your board by accident.

Copy the board as an image

A copy-image control sits with the other present-mode controls. It puts the dashboard on your clipboard as a picture, ready to paste into a message or a document - useful when the audience needs the state you are looking at right now, filters and all.

Tip: An empty slicer selection means unfiltered, not "nothing". If a card looks like it is showing everything, its slicer is probably clear rather than broken - and Clear is how you get back to the full picture.

For handing a dashboard to someone who is not in the room, see the sharing article instead - present mode is for driving the board yourself.
